This directory contains files regarding a naming scheme for fonts to be
used with TeX. Please email comments and bug reports to tex-fonts@math.utah.edu.

fontname.texi is the master source, a Texinfo document describing the
overall scheme. fontname.info is the info version.
The *.map files are the actual tables of abbreviations and font
lists. They include directory names where appropriate. They are used by
the MakeTeXPK distributed with the kpathsea drivers, web2c, etc. All
except special.map are described in fontname.texi.
The *.enc files are encoding files for use with Afm2tfm, which comes
with dvips.
