Packaging Details (or "What Should I Download?")

Source and binaries are packaged together in a single artifact; the following release artifacts are available:

• shale-framework-[version].zip - The Shale framework (all framework modules)
• mailreader-jpa-[version].zip - The JPA Entity Classes used by the Mailreader sample app
• shale-blank-[version].zip - The Shale Starter application
• shale-clay-usecases-[version].zip - The Shale Clay usecases sample application
• shale-mailreader-[version].zip - The Shale Mailreader sample application
• shale-mailreader-jpa-[version].zip - The Shale Mailreader JPA sample application
• shale-sql-browser-[version].zip - The Shale SQL browser sample application
• shale-usecases-[version].zip - The Shale Usecases sample application

The following artifacts require JDK 1.5:

• shale-tiger framework module
• mailreader-jpa extras module
• shale-mailreader-jpa sample application
• shale-sql-browser sample application
• shale-test-tiger test application (part of shale-framework-[version].zip)

Signatures

Many of the files have been digitally signed using GnuPG. If so, there will be an accompanying file.asc signature file in the same directory as the file. The signing keys can be found in the distribution directory at <http://www.apache.org/dist/shale/KEYS>.

Always download the KEYS file directly from the Apache site, never from a mirror site.

Always test available signatures, e.g.,

$ pgpk -a KEYS
$ pgpv shale-framework-[version].zip.asc
or,
$ pgp -ka KEYS
$ pgp shale-framework-[version].zip.asc
or,
$ gpg --import KEYS
$ gpg --verify shale-framework-[version].zip.asc
